Raskatielli di Miskiglio are a typical product of Fardella (PZ), a town located 750 m above sea level, immersed in the Pollino National Park (the largest national park in Italy). A dish poor in its origins but rich in terms of health and nutrition. The origins of this pasta are uncertain: according to some sources, it was created by the humbler families who, not being able to count on durum wheat flour, began mixing the little flour available with other types of flours. It is from this story that four small Lucanian towns (Fardella, Teana, Calvera, and Chiaromonte) decided to “mix” and give life to the Via del Miskiglio, a project also supported by the well-known presenter of Linea Verde, Peppone Calabrese. The year 2024 marked the launch of the Miskiglio Festival, which was a great success. From here comes the idea to start a production activity of the product in its original form, strictly handmade, as the versions already on the market are made with industrial equipment and do not fully reflect the tradition. Traditional Agro-food Product. The Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies has included Raskatiell di Fardella in the list of Traditional Agro-food Products (PAT) of the Basilicata Region.
