
Syrah Duca di Salapurta The Terre Siciliane Syrah IGT "Autentici" from Duca di Salaparuta is made from pure Syrah grapes hand-picked in the second half of September. A wine with fruity and spicy aromas, full on the palate, it proves that in Sicily Syrah has found fertile ground. Type: red. Classification: Sicilia DOC. Origin area: western Sicily. Grape variety: Syrah. Soil: mixed limestone-siliceous composition. Altitude: above 200 meters a.s.l. Vineyards: espalier-trained vineyard with average density of 4,500 vines per hectare. Climate: mild winters with cool springs, hot and windy summers. Harvest: grapes hand-picked in the second half of September. Vinification: traditional fermentation with maceration on the skins for about 6 - 8 days. Racking, soft pressing and malolactic fermentation. Maturation: in stainless steel for more than two months in contact with its own yeasts. Refinement: after bottling, it spends one month in bottle in a temperature-controlled cellar for bouquet development. Alcohol content: 12.0% - 13.0% vol. Serving temperature 16° - 18°C. Food pairings: excellent with flavorful fish dishes, meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses. Storage: in a cool, not excessively humid environment, away from light.
